Spring symbolises new life & growth. Trees, plants & fields are beginning to turn green & we can see this all around with the new palette of colorful flowers slowly pushing through the greener grass.
As the clocks have now sprung forward we should also update and move forward into our new Spring/Summer wardrobe. Think about updating your darks for lighter pastels and fabrics. There’s nothing like a new spring coat or pair of shoes to brighten up your day.
With the London marathon looming it may be the time to get inspired, dust off your running shoes and get fit for the summer months. Why not start your day, or wash off work at the end of the day with the lighter evenings by pounding the streets and blowing off the cobwebs!
This time of year not only means new growth for nature, but also proves a popular time for our own baby boom with mantelpieces becoming increasingly filled with baby shower invitations.
A baby shower is the perfect time to spoil, pamper and support your friend. This is going to be one of the last times for a while that it is ALL about her. It is traditional for a friend of the expecting mum to host the baby shower, and as the one in the charge, you can be left to feel a little overwhelmed;
Here are our top tips on how to throw the perfect baby shower!
- Set a theme
When planning a baby shower its best to stick with pastel colors and shades – If you know the sex of the baby, that’s always a help or keep it neutral with the theme of favorite children’s book.
- Make Memories
Think how you can make this an extra special day with little treats for each guest, put on a fabulous spread of miniature cakes and sandwiches and baby mocktails that can be enjoyed by everyone! Why not include a professional photographer to document the day.
- Plan the Perfect Present
Having a baby is an overpowering experience in so many ways. It is a whole new world of sleep (or lack of it), gadgets, games, necessities and wish lists, with one product being harder to differentiate than the other. Having a baby shower can be a helpful tool – not only to celebrate this new miracle but is a great opportunity to gift things your friend may not have thought of, or may want, if not need, for the new little bundle of joy.
- Club Together
By clubbing together via Storcx.com with the other guests you can give your expectant host, a gift-card to purchase the things she really needs either for herself or the baby. The last thing you want to do is clutter her already over subscribed babywear & gadgets! You can also use Storcx to collect money to contribute towards the shower itself. There is no reason why the financial obligation should fall on one persons shoulders. It can be an expensive affair with refreshments, decorations, games and treats to really spoil the mum- to-be!
