If post the summer holidays, you are still holding on to your sun kissed glow and dusted freckles, then you are certainly one of the lucky few. If like many, by now your skin, after the exposure of the summer sun, lashings of spf and perhaps a little too much rose, is resembling a tired leather suitcase then this is the issue for you! Focusing on how to lift ourselves up and improve our skin and restore our youth, we will be offering our guide to the best facials in London.
We are also lucky enough this edition to have Irene Forte OF Irene Forte Skin Care to provide a detailed insight into their methods of how to keep perfect clarity and a dewy glow all year long.
WHAT DO YOU DO TO MAINTAIN BEAUTIFUL SKIN?
There is not one answer to great skin. To really have glowing skin you need to combine a number of things: great products; regular facials; a healthy diet and drinking at least 3 litres of water a day; regular exercise; and sleep.
I’ve shared my favourite products, skincare routine and go-to facials below…
I use my own skincare line called Irene Forte Skincare. Launched in December 2018, this is a considered, multi-benefit and sustainable skincare line, inspired by Sicily and handmade in Italy. I call it the Mediterranean diet for your skin.
I start the morning with a bit of water and the Almond Cleansing Milk from the range. I then use the Helichrysum Hyaluronic Toner to get rid of any calc residue from the water (this is particularly important in London). I splash toner on and pitter patter my skin with my fingertips in order to boost circulation. Following this, I use the Hibiscus Serum. I never miss the serum step in my routine; serum is more potent than a cream and its molecular size allows it to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. The Almond Eye Cream comes next and then I usually finish with the Aloe Vera Face Cream. However, this varies depending on the season and how my skin feels. With most people, skin type is not the same on all areas of the face. For example, I tend to get a greasy T-bone and nose, so when this is the case I use the Lavender & Rosemary Face Cream around my T zone area and on my nose. The rest of my face is usually dry and dehydrated, so I apply the Aloe Vera Face Cream on the rest of my face. This is a great tip called face mapping; it can also be done with cleansers, toners and masks. Three times per week I l do a scrub/ peel after the Cleanser (I like to use my Apricot Face Peel, but I also love Pietro Simone’s Scrub).
In the evening I use the same cleanser and toner. I then use the Hibiscus Serum or a Hyaluronic Avid Vial. I’ll then use my Rose Face Oil or Hibiscus Night Cream on my face. If I use the Rose Face Oil, I will do some self-massage on my face. Sometimes I’ll use the Pistachio Face Mask overnight.
In terms of facials, I do monthly at home facials with Desi Valentine; she is amazing, and I have her Cryo Facial once a month, which includes ultrasonic, LED light, high frequency and the CO2 gun all in one facial. She has also now integrated Irene Forte Skincare into some of her treatments.
I also try and throw in a facial at The Spa at Brown’s with Irene Forte Skincare (or at one of the Rocco Forte Spas I happen to be travelling to). The Forte Facial is a quick maintenance facial, which is tailored to suit your skin needs (e.g. to purify, brighten or even hydrate).
I go to Pietro Simone for laser once every six months. He uses Clear & Brilliant on me. Pietro is a total skin wizard. He has a clinic in Chelsea, his own skincare range and offers all sorts of high-tech skin treatments.
Sometimes I also go for a signature 30-minute face workout massage at FaceGym. I think strong manual massage greatly benefits the skin.
I’ve received so many amazing gifts! One of my most recent favourites was probably my electric scooter. This is the closest I’ll ever get to a driving license; I’m enjoying the freedom scooting around on it.
Also don’t forget to pay a visit to the Design Festival before 22nd September, with our favourite spot being the Design Centre at Chelsea Harbour which is the world’s leading design destination that nurtures its vibrant design community and champions creative excellence. This really is the perfect time to explore the capital and get your creative juices flowing!

Look no further than Linda Meredith in Knightsbridge for the ultimate oxygen collagen facial. Visited by celebrities across the globe this treatment never fails to disappoint. Hidden in a townhouse on Beauchamp Place the therapists get straight to work on your skin. They explain that Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid are the two most important components of skin. Their treatments consist of a fine sheet of freeze dried collagen or infused hyaluronic acid moistened into the contours of the face. This process reactivates the ingredients which then absorb deep into the epidermis. The oxygen concentrator is used to increase the absorption rate of the ingredients. This is truly the facial for a plumped look that restores your skin!
